Dr. Oz's recent article in TIME Magazine -- entitled "The anti-snob diet" -- has created something of a firestorm across the internet. In his article, Dr. Oz refers to people who buy organic foods or who frequent farmers markets as "snooty" "elitist" and "snobs." He promotes feedlot beef, conventional ice cream and canned foods while implying organic foods are "elitist" foods only for the "1%." He even says these organic, farmers market foods are "not very democratic."
Today I ate a bag of delicious hemp seeds. They are a nutritional power house containing high amounts of protein, zinc, magnesium, iron, phosphorus, and essential fatty acids.
Sadly, while the Obama's are undoubtedly well aware of the health dangers of processed foods in general and genetically engineered foods specifically, their personal belief system has not filtered into the food policies that affects the rest of the population.
On the contrary, the President has spent the last four years appointing one Monsanto shill after another into key federal positions that wield near-absolute power over agricultural issues. Mrs. Obama's efforts to promote organic foods, which included a much publicized White House organic garden, were also quickly tempered and toned down by a personal visit from The Mid America CropLife Association, an agribusiness media group, who "urged the first lady to give conventional agriculture equal time," according to a 2009 Politico article.9
Topping it all off, the President has also completely ignored his pre-election promise to IMMEDIATELY label GE foods, should he win, "because Americans should know what they're buying."
"Farmageddon" tells the story of family farms that were providing healthy foods to their communities and were forced to stop by agents of misguided government bureaucracies.

I shopped at an Indian Supermarket and discovered puffed rice (similar to whats in rice krispies cereal) I thought to my self "hey I wonder if i can make my own cereal with this" I wanted to find a healthier alternative to the GMO junk cereals besides the organic ones that are way over priced. I bought a gigantic bag 28oz of puffed rice for $2.99. Guess what? The Kids LOved it !!!
Ingredients:
Puffed rice
Handful of organic raisins (conventional raisins have lots of pesticides on them..Avoid them)
2 tsp sugar (make sure its from cane sugar)
Sprinkle cinnamon
Organic Milk
Place puffed rice into a bowl. Add some raisins. 2 tsp sugar. Sprinkle cinnamon. Add Milk. Mix well.
Enjoy your NON GMO cereal :)
The Beef Industry is panicking. Supermarkets are not buying the Pink Slime because people dont want it.
Texas Governor Rick Perry along with Iowa Governor Terry Branstad and Kansas Governor Sam Brownback take a tour of a pink slime factory to try to convince you that this stuff is safe and nutritious. During the press confrence that followed the tour Governor Branstand yells out "It's beef, but it's leaner beef which is better for you." Yeah, sure Governor Brandstand ammonia Hydroxide is wonderfully nutritious !!
Rick Perry during the press confrence stood up and told the public what to call Pink slime "Let's call this product what it is and let 'pink slime' become a term of the past.” These governors are such puppets for corporations that they even went as far as to eat the pink slime burgers in front of the cameras. The founders of Beef products INC contributed $150,000 to Governor Branstad in 2010, im sure that had something to do with his defense of this company. All three of these governors are in Beef producing states. The governors held up a Tshirts that said "Dude,, its just Beef !"
This is my favorite site for buying quality herbs, spices and teas. They have a great line of herbal products and accessories. The herbs are of the highest quality. This is the only place I order from when i want quality herbs. When you are seeking the medicinal effect of teas, it is important to use herbs that have been harvested and dried properly. It is also important to use the freshest herbs possible. Their peppermint tea is incredible, and they have great herbal blends (my favorite is chai) I bought excellent black pepper from them. From now on I will only buy my spices from them !!
