City Health "officials" want the New York Police department to keep track of "mentally ill people who do not take their medicine.
If they are going to keep track of people (which I don't agree with because it violates people's Civil Rights) I think they should monitor those people who DO take SSRI Drugs and NOT the ones who Don't.
Why? Because SSRi DRugs are dangerous drugs that are known to be linked to suicide and violent behavior. These drugs have a black box warning on the package insert cautioning people about this!!
Serotonin is not a "Happy Hormone" it is a Stress Hormone. This is what the pharmaceutical industry does not want you to know. Serotonin keeps people on their toes, it is a fight or flight response. That is why many people on these antidepressant drugs commonly have anxiety and paranoia. Many have trouble sleeping and get quickly agitated.
Serotonin being a stress hormone is responsible for shutting your digestive system and immune system down so you have energy to Fight or run. (that is why one of the side effects is upset stomach)
Almost all of the mass shooters in recent years were on some form of SSRI Antidepressant Drugs !!
